The Challenge

James is a creative individual who embarked on his own business venture in light of the sense of calmness and accomplishment he feels when he is working with his hands. As a creative entrepreneur, he creates works of art that involve the use of wood - but in time, he hopes to expand his creativity and explore other materials.

My Role

As a Designer, I learnt that James was in need of a logo for his newly established business - "James' Manic Works". The logo he sought out is inspired by the Steampunk era; the logo needed to be diverse and adaptable to future business expansion. I embraced this challenge and embarked on a journey through the era's to learn more about steampunk design and how this could be translated into a pleasing logo design.

The Result

The end result was a logo that is featured in gold with cog works and tools of the trade placed in a strategic pattern that is reminiscent of the Steampunk logo designs. As part of the marketing material needed to expand his business, James Manic Works CI would feature a business card, labels or tags as well as packaging to transport his custom designs to his customers.
